A valuable timber tree having large lobbed
leaves that turn bright crimson, scarlet or
yellow in the fall. This tree yields a sweet
sap that is the main source of maple syrup
and maple sugar. The sugar shack is normally
a small cabin where the sweet sap is refined
to maple syrup and maple sugar. |
